And the Athletic Business’ Facilities of Merit Award goes to… the Nashville Soccer Club Training Facility! We are honored to be recognized for our work on Major League Soccer (MLS)’s Nashville SC facility, which is now award-winning. With more than one judge describing the facility as “elegant,” we were excited to see how the vision for integrating sports design with sophistication did not go unnoticed. The facility is designed to guide players through their training journey with a sequence of spaces that align with their daily routines. A secluded team-only entrance provides players with immediate access to sports medicine, hydrotherapy, and dedicated areas for strength and conditioning. Social spaces are woven into the facility including a players’ lounge and an expansive communal dining commons featuring a wrap-around outdoor terrace. It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of our Founder and Chairman, Curtis J. Moody, FAIA, NOMAC. Surrounded by family, he passed peacefully on Sunday, October 13th. Funeral Arrangements for Curt Moody: The viewing will be held on Thursday, October 24, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at New Salem Baptist Church, located at 2956 Cleveland Ave., Columbus, OH 43224. The funeral service will immediately follow at the same location (New Salem). Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, 3840 Sunbury Rd., Columbus, OH 43219, at approximately 1 pm. AIA, NOMA, project coordinator from our Moody Nolan Houston studio.   Javier’s Hispanic heritage has shaped his journey, from finding mentorship and community in the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) and AIA Austin Latinos in Architecture (LiA) to being inspired by his grandparents' sacrifices for better opportunities. As Tennessee State University (TSU) celebrates homecoming this week, we’re excited to continue celebrating the creation of its new home on campus – a modern student residence hall that truly embodies the essence of ‘home away from home.’ This 220,000 sq ft, $69 million project marks the first new residence hall on campus in nearly 25 years. Designed to elevate the student living-learning experience, the 700-bed facility includes pod-style units, student apartments, and even faculty housing. Considered the social hub of its corner on campus, the building features four retail dining venues, a convenience store, and offices for Residential Life and Housing. You’ll also find learning spaces ranging from small group instruction areas to full classrooms. Additional amenities include a computer lab and a 200-person event space. We are incredibly grateful to our partners, Mackey Mitchell Architects, the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), the University, and the students for their collaboration and vision in bringing this project to life.
