    The co-chairs of Kramer Levin's White Collar practice have jumped ship (with several other partners) to Gibson Dunn. Kramer's 2023 PPEP = $2.4M Gibson's 2023 PPEP = $5.6M Revenue growth is not enough - firm's need to focus on profitability to ensure they can retain the best talent and provide competitive compensation for high producing partners. Is your firm's revenue growth healthy? Are you growing PPEP and RPL with revenue or is that eroding?   • Reflecting on the increasing technology costs - how are firms going to pass that along with billable hours? They can't. Clients assign billable hour value to the individual delivering the service. If overhead becomes too large a component, they will not see the value. Further, technology will make the practice more efficient reducing the number of hours firm's can bill for the same work. We are currently writing an article on this premise. Do you have a POV? We would love to hear from you and incorporate your views!

  • The creative thought shown here is a great example of firm's adapting to what technology offers versus forcing it to adapt to you. Only when firm's change "Business as Usual" to a new model that incorporates technology as an asset will we see the ROI needed for today's large technology investments.
