Through a network of more than a dozen clinics, we offer integrated health services that address each patient’s medical, dental, behavioral health, nutrition and medication needs. Last week, we were visited by Jim Withers and Suzanne Lemaire Lozier of the Street Medicine Institute (SMI). They accompanied our Street Medicine team to China Hat and Juniper Ridge to talk with patients about their experiences, then returned to Mosaic and presented an overview of the national program to our staff. We learned from the SMI representatives that our rural environment creates a non-traditional scenario for street medicine, which is usually done in urban environments. Because of this, Mosaic has the opportunity to help pave the way for rural street medicine across the nation. They also asserted that there is a vital need for street medicine in our community. Mosaic was recently awarded a national Street Medicine Institute 2024 Seed Grant, which consists of $10,000 annually and a year of intensive consultative support from street medicine experts. Our Call Center team is the united front at Mosaic, handling everything from appointment scheduling to crisis calls. Here's something one of our Call Center team members had to share: "I have worked alongside these individuals for many years here in the Call Center and I get the pleasure of listening to their many interactions with our patients. I hear the empathy in their voices as they console patients who are in pain... I witness the lengths they go to try to help a patient in need and I see the emotional toll it takes on them after they end a crisis call. They never allow the stress of life to come through on their calls, they stand strong for our patients to lean on, and for that, they are warriors to me." During National Customer Service Week, we thank all our patient access and patient service representatives for the care they put into their work. You are truly appreciated and valued. #NationalCustomerServiceWeek #CallCenterTeam #CustomerService #PatientCare

Thank you to all who attended the open house for the newly remodeled Crook Kids School-Based Health Center in Prineville. We welcomed our full-time pediatrician, Dr. Ryan Kearney, who is committed to caring for his patients as he hopes others would care for his family. And thank you to the Central Oregonian for the front page story, "School-based health center offers wide services and welcoming atmosphere." During National Physician Assistant Week, we want to thank all our PAs for the quality care they provide our patients. Want to know a few facts about PAs? Physician associates/physician assistants (PAs) are licensed clinicians who work under the supervision of a doctor to diagnose, treat, prescribe medications and care for patients. The profession was established in 1967 and was voted the #2 Best Healthcare Job by U.S. News & World Report 2024. PAs are educated at Master's Degree level and are an important asset to addressing health care workforce shortages. Thank you, PAs! #PAWeek #PAsGoBeyond

We are thrilled to announce that through our partnership with the YOUNI Movement and Not'Cho Grandma's Bingo, we have raised over $10,000 for our patient fund. Our last event with them of 2024 was held a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't be more happy with the turnout. The energy and excitement from attendees was contagious. We appreciate each and everyone of you that joined us this year for fun and making an impact on our patients. Thank you, also to the following businesses that donated items for our mystery bags! Last week, staff from First Interstate Bank and Taylor Northwest spent the afternoon donating their time to Mosaic. They filled over 150 storage bags to create Cold Weather Kits that our Mobile Clinic and street medicine pilot program will distribute to patients. These kits contained balaclavas, lip balm, socks, hand warmers and more. Working quickly and as a team, the kits were assembled, boxed up and ready for distribution. There were a few administrative tasks they also supported us with as well. A big thank you to this amazing and compassionate group of individuals! #VolunteerAppreciation #HouselessOutreach #CommunityCare #StreetMedicine
