    HOW TO TUESDAY - Creating Compelling Content The biggest thing people worry about when creating content, is whether anybody is going to care People always want to know how to make it better. How to make it resonate. How to make it more compelling Here are 2 easy ways to make your content more compelling: Speak in your customer’s language! So often, we get caught up in speeds and feeds, acronyms and jargon, that we forget that our customer does not speak like we do. Listen to how your customers talk to each other, pay attention at conferences and trade shows, and use that same language in your content! Learn how to tell stories! Everyone loves a good story, so create a structure your content goes through every time with an intro, give some context, tie it to a real life scenario, then book end it with an insight or conclusion. This will resonate more than just blurting out information at random. If you know anybody in education, tutoring, or coaching, it would also be a good idea to approach them to get their thoughts and feedback!     HOW TO TUESDAY - Choosing social channels With so many social media platforms out there - how do you choose which to invest time and resources in? You can’t be all things to all people. You can’t dedicate 100% of your time to making content for every single platform. You can’t effectively grow 7 social channels at the same time. So what do you do? First step, is to do research and analysis on where your customers consume their content. Where do they go to learn things? Where do they go to network and congregate? Second step, is where is the attention? Do they learn in one place, and interact in another? Third step, is look at the engagement. Where are the majority of conversations and interactions happening? Once you have selected a minimum of 2, abide by the 80/20 rule. 80% of your time in number one, 20% in number 2. The landscape of social is changing all the time, so if you spread yourself evenly across platforms you can easily pivot and change as things adapt EXTRA TIP: Augment your content for the platform. What works on LinkedIn may not work on YouTube. What works on YouTube may not work on Facebook etc #socialmedia #digitalmarketing
