Did you know the first computer mouse was made out of wood? The first computer mouse was invented by Douglas Engelbart in 1963–64 at Stanford Research Institute (SRI) International. The mouse was made of wood, had one button, and was designed to work with a graphical user interface. Bill English, SRI's chief engineer at the time, built the first prototype in 1964. The mouse used two wheels, one for the x-axis and one for the y-axis, to track movement across a surface and translate it into cursor movement on the screen. Here's another fun fact: Our Motus Technology Solutions team has extensive industry knowledge and experience to recruit top technology talent for a wide variety of organizations. 📷: A prototype of the first mouse, from 1968 | Rue des Archives / APIC / Getty Images
