According to the National Institutes of Health, depression is prevalent among 6% of seniors over 60 and up to 27% of those over 85. Though common, many seniors remain untreated because symptoms can mimic age-related changes, such as fatigue, loss of appetite, and cognitive decline. Detecting these signs early on is key for effective support and greater life satisfaction.
