Each day across our larger HCA Healthcare network, emergency room (ER) nurses care for patients who are facing traumatic or severe, often life-threatening medical emergencies ranging from car accidents to strokes and heart attacks. Annually, HCA Healthcare hospitals see more than 9 million ER visits. ER nurses are trained to act decisively in critical situations, providing expert skill with compassion while reducing discomfort during each patient interaction. During Emergency Nurses Week, we celebrate and thank the essential emergency room nurses at MountainView Hospital for their dedication to lifesaving, patient-centered care and community service. #PositiveImpact #HCANursing #ENWeek

Here is what a patient's family said about LaTeasha: "LaTeasha has gone more than above doing her job. She has thoroughly cleaned everything in our room. And she was not just exceptional at her job, but also her kind words to my husband during his stroke recovery, which encouraged him to do his therapy. She is the best!"

Each month we recognize our colleagues who go above and beyond in caring for our community. Today we recognize Len D. ,PT, Rehab for Patient Safety! Here is what a patient's family said about Len "Len, a kind and caring person, is one of the sweetest, most sincere and patient person I have ever met. She was my (90-year-old) husband's physical therapist in your Rehabilitation unit. Always with a smile on her face, she radiated sincerity in everything she did and said. She had a way of explaining what she wanted him to do in a way he could understand (calmly and unhurried). She motivated him in a way he would not get frustrated. She had excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Always pleasant and patient with him, she always corrected him in a positive, reassuring manner. Safety was her #1 concern. She made sure everything he did was safe and manageable. She would always remind him, the safe way, during the activity. I could not believe how patient she was with him, such a sincere, caring and pleasant person. Len contacted the case manager (when she found out he was being transferred to another facility) to help coordinate and make sure he would have a safe and painless transfer. Because she is such a caring person, going "above and beyond" what is even required of her, she even made a point to come to his room to assist the transfer people when they picked him up. I feel so blessed that my husband was lucky enough to have her as his physical therapist!"

Each month we recognize our colleagues who go above and beyond in caring for our community. Today we recognize Rachel A., RN, in IMC, for Customer Service! Here is what a patient's family said about Rachel: "Rachel is so compassionate, caring and knowledgable. She is veyr kind and understanding, and has a great attitude. It is obvious by her demeanor that she loves her job and wants to help patients. She helped my husband above and beyond. Rachel took time to go through my husband's home med list and make sure all the meds were given to my husband. First night I was sitting in the chair and all night long, when Rachel noticed I was sitting on the chair, she made arrangements to put the recliner by my husband's bed. Before she went home in the morning, she came by the room to make sure everything is ok. She took great care of my husband."
