Today we’re pleased to share that our work was featured in the The New York Times and ran on the front page! This reporting, which took place over a year, relied on extensive research and analysis provided to the New York Times by Contest Every Race to reveal a key crisis Democrats face: not running in nearly half of all races. "Lauren Gepford, a vice president at Movement Labs, oversees the effort by Contest Every Race to recruit and finance rural Democratic candidates. About four in 10 go on to win, she said, but the benefits extend beyond that" “Our initial goal was to make sure that everybody has a choice on their ballot,” she said. “But we’ve seen when a Democrat runs locally it reshapes political terrain. There’s some counties that we’ve worked in for six years now where you’ll see that they’ve become consistently more Democratic.” Thanks to our data and comms teams for making this possible!
