Believe it or not, writing is a high-risk job.  Anything can happen.  You always start with a blank page. And, every writer’s worst nightmare is accidentally deleting the audio from your interview. That was my story in 2017 after my then editor, Matt McCue, had assigned me the interview of a lifetime - an interview with former White House photographer, Pete Souza. Thankfully, I lived to write that piece. {And have included a reenactment of that moment below.} Even though my editor never learned about this near hiccup until today…I must underscore the importance of a strong editor and writer rapport.
