Muhammad Ali Center reposted this
Los Angeles continues to be especially kind to the Muhammad Ali Center and the legacy of the Champ. This week, I joined Lonnie Ali, our board member Peter Villegas and former Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer in building some important partnerships in the City of Angles. We were thankful for the warm welcome Mayor Karen Bass gave us as we began to make plans to strengthen Muhammad Ali's legacy in California. It was especially nice to spend time with Renata Simril and her staff at LA84 Foundation, where they continue to immortalize the 1984 Olympic Games that were played in Los Angeles. The sports-related programs and services they make possible for young people creates a great platform for us to partner in promoting the value sports have in making positive impacts on our communities. Lastly, the love and appreciation the sports world still has for Muhammad Ali was palpable at the SUPERBOWL of boxing event put on by His Excellency Turki Al-ashwan and the SELA team. It was a spectacular boxing card that showcased of many of the world's current boxing elites and a long list of former greats who continue to acknowledge the significance of the G.O.A.T. - Muhammad Ali. We enjoyed some beautiful weather, saw some exciting boxing matches and made a lot of new friends. Looking forward to the next visit LA with Dana Pump! #RiyadhSeasonCard
