Position Overview: We are seeking an aggressive and motivated attorney to join our office as an Associate in Connecticut. The successful candidate will represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in defending Workers' Compensation claims in all districts of the CT Workers' Compensation Commission. Responsibilities: -         Provide legal representation for clients at all Hearing levels in the Workers’ Compensation Commission including Informal, Pre-Formal and Formal Hearings, as well as Appeals proceedings before the Compensation Review Board and/or the CT Appellate Court. -         Perform legal research and analysis to support defense strategies to mitigate exposure and provide the best possible outcome for our clients in terms of claims handling. -         Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents. -         Prepare Initial Case Evaluations, Exposure and Settlement Analyses as well as maintain regular communication with clients to ensure effective case management and adherence to their needs. -         Negotiate settlement agreements with opposing counsel, aiming to achieve amicable case resolutions that serve the best interests of our clients. -         Stay current with the latest developments in CT Workers' Compensation law and practice to ensure that clients receive the most up-to-date and effective legal representation. Requirements: -         Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. -         Admission to the Connecticut State Bar. -         Excellent written and oral communication abilities and interpersonal skills. -         Ability to work independently and as part of a team. -         Commitment to providing outstanding client service. -         Experience in Workers’ Compensation defense work is preferable but not required as we are willing to train the right candidate.
