Multicultural Family Center

Our Summer Teen Empowerment Program (STEP) has been busy busy this summer!!! We wrapped up our 5th week of STEP focused on employability and job skills! Our 41 teens enrolled had the opportunity to build their own resumes, participate in mock interviews, and connect with local business owners and organizations to learn more about what it takes to be successful and their fields of work. Nicholas Hockenberry, the Director of Workforce Programming here in Dubuque served as a mock interviewer for our teens. After interviews he shared: “I was incredibly impressed by the kids and honestly the work you all did to prepare them. I could tell that they really did hear the coaching you all provided on interview skills and applied them with me and the others during the interviewing.” We are so proud of the growth our teens have shown through this program and are so grateful for our community members and partners who help make our programs possible!
