We are pleased to announce Kristen Davies, CAE has been promoted to Vice President of Operations at Multifamily NW. Kristen has been an MFNW staff member since 2010 holding many positions, including Events Director and, most recently, Director of Operations. She became a Certified Association Executive (CAE) in 2024 and a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in 2022. She will oversee the association's day-to-day operations and non-government affairs staff and lead the Board Development Task Force. Please join us in congratulating Kristen on her new role!

Oregon has released the annual rent control amount for 2025. As expenses for housing providers continue to increase, our members remain very concerned about the limitations on their ability to cover costs. Election season is here and for the first time in more than 100 years, Portlanders will be voting by ranked choice to elect 12 new city councilors, a new mayor, and the city auditor. Changes have also been made to how a candidate can raise campaign funds. Members of the Multifamily NW team have met with candidates to discuss the challenges our city faces, obstacles housing providers deal with daily to provide housing, and other issues affecting the quality of life for our region's residents.
