I was honored to be invited to the MuniTech Conference in the great city of #Chicago this year. As someone who considers himself a #techie, it’s good to be with like-minded individuals who also want more efficiency in the municipal market. Here are a few takeaways: - Advisors like me must help usher in changes in the arcane (but, IMHO, already fairly efficient (considering the regulatory constraints and unique nature)) of the municipal market - Advisors like me must actively learn more how to use the current tech that can bring great things to the municipal market - The post-issuance/secondary market is where changes are well underway and (will likely) rapidly advance in the next few years - While I’m open to advocating for efficiency through tech in the pre/primary market, we advisors must be consulted in the early stages of the creation of such tech, because, as I learned today, some participants don’t know what we do That’s my (current) two-cents, and I look forward to helping bring my beloved municipal market into the age of #Ai and advanced technology #muniland

Alaska Issues $190 Million in Bonds Alaska sold $190.4 million in bonds to refund previously issued securities.  The state sold $107.5 million in forward-delivery Series 2025A bonds and $82.9 million in Series 2024B bonds. The 2025A bonds, which are scheduled to be delivered in May of next year, mature between 2026 and 2035, yielding between 3.05% and 3.25%. The 2024B bonds... Minnesota Sells $1.6 Bln in Bonds Minnesota issued $1.6 billion in bonds to finance a series of capital improvements across the state. Minnesota sold the bonds in five series. All are general obligations of the state, backed by its full faith and credit. The securities received a rating of AAA from Fitch Ratings, Aaa from Moody’s Investors Service, and AAA from...
