Most copywriters won’t say this… But I’m willing to: I don’t get copy right the first time every time. (This is why collaboration is so important) For example, last month we worked with Anjuli — an amazing pediatrician — to update her messaging and website with the new direction of her online business. Anjuli first came to me in 2021 to create the first version of her website and build resources she could sell. For the next 2 years, she grew to 141k followers on Instagram and sold LOTS of these resources. Then, in 2024 she came back to us. She was ready to update her website to more reflect the small adjustments she’s made in the business over the last 3 years But we hit a snag. She didn’t love the first draft of the homepage wireframe we wrote. It felt too salesy for what she wanted and it didn’t focus on the right things she most wanted to sell. So we rewrote it. I used our time in our Live Review Sessions to really hear her feedback and talk through what she liked and didn’t like. Collaboration like this takes: — Honest, constructive communication — Setting ego in the way-back of the bus — Curiosity and imagination to figure out why something isn’t working And the courage to try again But the labor is worth it… Anji LOVED her new site and how it truly reflected her and her business. This is what a good copywriter & client relationship looks like. And I’m proud that we have it with all our clients.
