MUSE is a membership organization providing the event industry inspiration, education and community to increase the positive impacts of our events.
Every action counts. There isn’t just one method or way sustainable events are achieved. Depending on the size, scope and nature of the event, organizers have many routes to lessen their impact on the environment, and promote positive social and economic impacts.
Right now, sustainability is a necessary skill and knowledge set for everyone in the event industry. Producing sustainable events will enhance your industry reputation and increase your opportunities. MUSE is a hub to access the tools and connections you need to achieve the triple bottom line: people, planet, profit.
Join us on Tuesday, September 17 for a presentation and Q&A led by Stefanie Lynch, Corporate Engagement Director at Greener By Default. Greener By Default advises organizations on behavioral science backed strategies to get people to eat more plant-based foods.
We'll learn how a plant forward menu makes a huge impact on reducing the carbon footprint of an event.
Did you know that in a sample 600 guest event, nudging the client towards a vegan entree will save approximately 5,843 kg CO2e, the equivalent of driving a gas car 14,944 miles, charging 385,735 smartphones, and planting and growing 96.6 trees for 10 years.
We'll talk about our current food system's environmental impact, harnessing human behavioral science, and simple strategies to immediately decrease your event's food related carbon emissions. We'll also touch upon how to calculate the carbon emissions of your meals and buffets.
