Last month, our Lead of Corporate Giving and Community Affairs Krista Seng, along with Dr. Steven Goldsmith, PhD, of Villanova University and graduate researcher Marissa Rossi Cassell accepted the Innovation and Collaboration Award for Research from Water Resources Association of the Delaware River Basin! This award honors the collaborative work between Aqua and Villanova’s Department of Geography and the Environment to advance innovative solutions for reducing the impact of road de-icing on stream ecosystems and drinking water sources in southeastern PA. As we celebrate Source Water Protection Week, we recognize this achievement and the ongoing dedication of our team and partners to safeguard Earth’s most essential resource. Congratulations! #SourceWaterProtectionWeek #DrinkingWater

At Aqua, we are dedicated to protecting and providing Earth’s most essential resource, and we know this would not be possible without our dedicated team of employees. We are excited to share the faces behind Aqua with our new series #ThePeopleBehindThePipes!
At Essential Utilities, we are proud to deliver safe, reliable services for the greater good of the communities we serve, and we know this would not be possible without the essential gas and water colleagues at Aqua, Peoples Natural Gas, and Delta. Last week, our VP of Public Affairs at Essential Utilities, Inc. Dave Kralle and our Lead of Corporate Giving and Community Affairs Krista Seng represented Aqua at the Hunger Action Day – Community Food Forum, hosted by Chester County Food Bank! Just as our founders recognized a need for safe, clean, and reliable drinking water in Delaware County, PA over 135 years ago, Chester County Food Bank also saw a need, with a focus on ensuring everyone in the county has access to nutritious food. We are proud to support Chester County Food Bank and the meaningful work they are doing in the communities we serve! Check back soon for more on our Fall for Food Banks initiative, where our team donates to provide meals to those in need in our service territory. #CommunityPartnership #FoodBank #Volunteer

Thank you to National Association of Water Companies for having our Chairman and CEO Christopher Franklin as a moderator last week at the #NAWC 2024 #WaterSummit!
Last week, our Chairman and CEO Christopher Franklin moderated a panel at the 2024 National Association of Water Companies Water Summit in San Diego on best practices for low-income water assistance. At Essential, we know we all need a helping hand sometimes. This is why we offer a variety of assistance programs not only for our water customers through Aqua, but also for our Peoples Natural Gas customers. Learn more about our commitment to supporting our customers and the initiatives we’ve implemented to ensure everyone has access to this critical resource at our Aqua and Peoples Natural Gas websites, and thank you to NAWC for having Chris for this important conversation! https://brnw.ch/21wMKvS #NACW #WaterSummit #WaterSummit2024

At Aqua, we are committed to investing in a cleaner, more sustainable future for the communities we serve. This is why we are proud to partner with other local utilities in southeastern PA for the Schuylkill River Restoration Fund. This fund, administered by Schuylkill River Greenways, NHA, provides grants to government agencies and nonprofit organizations for projects that improve the quality of water in the watershed. Last week, members of our Aqua PA team attended a tour of previous project sites in Philadelphia and a press conference to formally announce the awardees for 2024. Congratulations to the 2024 grantees! https://brnw.ch/21wMDzf #EnvironmentalImpact #WaterQuality #Utilities

In recent weeks, our Aqua PA team has been busy at two volunteer events across southeastern PA! In collaboration with Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia, employees gathered at Lincoln Financial Field where they packed 1,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to ensure children in the region are well-equipped for the school year. Employees also recently took part in a canoe cleanup with Brandywine Red Clay Alliance! Volunteers paddled through the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek, collecting trash and debris to help preserve the environment. Thank you to all our employees for their hard work and commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we serve! #Volunteer #CommunityImpact #EnviromentalImpact

Earlier this year, we announced an exciting new partnership with Riverbend Environmental Education Center and Upper Darby School District to bring environmental STEM programs to students. We are happy to share the impact the program has had so far with the fifth-grade students at Hillcrest Elementary School! We are excited to continue expanding this partnership for more students to learn about how the water in their community arrives to their homes and schools! Check out the video below to learn more about the program and the impact the program has had on the students. https://brnw.ch/21wMbxV #EnvironmentalEducation #Partnership #CommunityImpact
