♥️ Thank you WorldChicago for the work you do and for choosing Impact House!
This #WorldChicagoWednesday, we're reflecting on our third year of implementing the Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative (YTILI). We owe a huge thanks to our program partners for making this possible. Read more about how the people of Chicago made this program special – and contact us to learn how you can, too! We express our gratitude to: -Our partners at DePaul University, Director of the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center at DePaul University Bruce Leech, and Coleman Chair of Entrepreneurship Maija Renko for the integral role they've played in shaping 3 years of YTILI programs, working with us to give these entrepreneurs insight into the Chicago business landscape and helping welcome this cohort of 43 European entrepreneur Fellows from 33 different countries. -Tech Nexus and their Founder and General Partner Fred Hoch for not only providing a tour of their space, but also invaluable insights with their team and amazing networking opportunities! -Impact House, a co-working space dedicated serving Chicago changemakers and impact leaders, and their Founder Israel Idonije LL.D, O.M., along with the rest of his team! They provided a venue in the heart of the Loop, that allowed Fellows to learn about fostering collaboration and connection and provided an inclusive environment for all to engage in networking and learning about the role of Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEIA) in American business and life. -Terra Winston, who brought all of their experience as the Principal of inTerract Consulting and ringleader of inTerractions. They facilitated a transformative DEIA session covering topics from using inclusive language to anti-discrimination laws in the U.S., preparing YTILI Spring 2024 Fellows to successfully transition into one of eight cities across the country as well as understand how all of this creates stronger, better businesses. - All our #citizendiplomacy partners who served as mentors in our final networking session! Terra Winston, Tracy Powell, Nikki Bravo, Alex Ocampo, Serita Love (Success Junkie), Matt Meyers, Maija Renko, and Michael Nishi (Chicago Event Management). Thank you for your time, expertise, and building bridges between Chicago and the world! #citizenexchange #choosechicago #dcase #internationalexchange

We’re thrilled to see Forefront (Illinois) continue to make a positive impact, and collaborating with the mayor on critical initiatives. #chicagoimpact #futureofimpact
Forefront (Illinois) Public Policy Thursdays: We were thrilled earlier this month to host Mayor Brandon Johnson and his team for a funder briefing at our Impact House office in Chicago. Our commitment to public-private partnerships is strong, and we are excited to continue to create space for our sector to partner with government. #socialimpact #funderbriefings

We’re celebrating one year of Rosie Drumgoole as CEO! Rosie knows Chicago Cares inside and out after 14 years of service and has continued to grow and evolve our work! This year Rosie has focused on rest and the wellbeing of our team- she entered this role with a true commitment to caring for her people, both internally and externally. So much so that she launched our Civic Love Campaign - a campaign rooted in the love that Chicagoans demonstrate each day. “Together we will be able to tell a new story about Chicago. A story that shows how Chicago is a place where love grows and expands. Because what I have learned the most over the past fourteen years at Chicago Cares is this… we are the kind of people who invest in love. We are the people who make it happen.” Civic love is self-care! Join us in celebrating Rosie, by practicing the act of civic love. Connect with your neighbors, sign up to serve at https://lnkd.in/evmMhQZp

We are so lucky to have a front row seat to all the incredible impact work being done in Chicago! Thanks for choosing Impact House for your event! #chicagoimpact
Our closing dinner for the Women's Leadership Mentoring Program (part of Chicago Women in Philanthropy) is one of the most exciting days of my year. We had an incredible event, including a fantastic panel. NONE of this would be possible without my amazing co-chairs Bridget Hickey and Michelle Patterson, MPA - we joke that between the three of us is a full person, juggling all the things that need to be done. Of course, without our committee, mentors and mentees, none of this would be possible. Our panel tonight was about Leading at All Levels, and was led thoughtfully and engagingly by Laura Traut-Coyle, including convincing our incredible panelists to attend - Julia Callahan, Katie Jozwik and Nicole R Robinson. This wraps up a year of mentor and mentee partnerships in the non-profit and philanthropic sector; professional development sessions; social events and much more. Our alumna base continues to expand, the program continues to evolve and be relevant -- event planning is not always the most fun but it always feels rewarding with the WLMP community. Also Impact House is an incredible space. Angela McLaughlin, is, as always, a tremendous support for the CWIP community. Monica Thorns and Laura Jansen are always there, from being mentors, to help with everything from setup to scrub down. I don't have the good photos yet, so you'll have to make do with my terrible photography (no really, it's okay, i know) and one distant group shot of most of us. Also thank you to everyone who made it tonight! We will be back soon with information about applying for the 2024-25 cohort! Becca Allpow Samantha Alvarez M.
