🎉 Celebrating Success at Capital Grill! 🎉 Our Tampa office recently enjoyed a fantastic team-building day at Capital Grill, where we came together to celebrate multiple office birthdays and acknowledge our recent successes! It was a wonderful opportunity to be together outside the office, reflect on our achievements, and enjoy delicious food in great company. Moments like these remind us of the importance of teamwork and camaraderie in driving our success. Cheers to many more celebrations and continued accomplishments ahead! #TeamBuilding #Celebration #TampaOffice #SuccessTogether

Discomfort is a constant passenger on the road to professional accomplishment. How we engage with that discomfort will determine whether we fail or succeed. We face a fork in the road when we become uncomfortable: do we seek protection or connection? This is something we discussed in my business mastermind last week. 🔒 Protection: This is the fear drive that can compel us to shrink, hunker down, in risk-averse ways; on the other hand it is also staying in our comfort zone, clinging and craving the familiar. While this can feel like sanctuary while it lasts, over the long term these behaviors limit our potential and stunt our growth. At work, this kind of protection can look like needing to save face and modest reticence. 🤝 Connection: On the other hand, you might choose connection: reaching out, collaborating, leaning in. You might check in with your colleagues, listen to their feedback. You might connect with them over a problem and tackle it together. In moments of discomfort, connection can be innovative, and resilient and ultimately lead to a sense of belonging. For leaders and team members alike, how can we cultivate our circles of safety and honor connection over its protective counterpart? Here are some ideas. Foster Open Sharing: embrace a work ethic where sharing of challenges is welcome. Let’s inoculate ourselves against the perception of weakness. Foster Cooperation: Drill down on teamwork and collaboration. Getting things done as a team can help with dealing with discomfort. Value Feedback: Feedback is a gift. Encouraging a growth mindset by the way it is received, comes to be viewed as something offered for improvement instead of being something to avoid. Lead by Example: As a leader, show how to be more open and connected. Share your own experiences of discomfort and ways that you’ve managed through it. Remember, discomfort is character-building. Creating a culture of connection in the workplace rather than protection not only becomes a differentiator in your career success, it elevates your work environment. Let’s embrace the discomfort and connect with one another! #CareerDevelopment #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #GrowthMindset #Networking
