Taking a moment to say 'thank you' to the universe is a powerful act of self care. Many studies have found a strong association between gratitude and good health. Maint * Keeping a gratitude journal reduces stress, improves sleep, and builds emotional resilience. *Gratitude is often called the 'natural antidepressant.' It has long lasting effects on one's happiness meter. *When we feel or express gratitude our brain releases serotonin and dopamine, the happy hormones that immediately uplift our mood. . . . #gratitude #practicinggratitude #gratitudejar #gratitudetips #mentalhealthtips #mentalhealthmatters #mentalwellbeingmatters #mentalwellness #mentalhealthapp #mymoodcircle

Incase you've been wondering what exactly a therapist can do, here is a great explaintation given by famous therapist, Irvind Yalom in his book titled 'The Gift of Therapy'. "My task (as a therapist) was to remove obstacles blocking my patient's path. I did not have to do the entire job; I did not have to inspirit the patient with the desire to grow, with curiosity, will, zest for life, caring, loyalty, or any of hte myriad of characteristics that make us fully human. No, what I had to do was to identify and remove obstacles. The rest would follow automatically, fuelled by the self-actualising forces within the patient" . . . #mentalhealthtips #therapistsconnect #therapyandyou #mymoodcircle #mentalhealthapp #mentalhealthtips #findinghappiness #clearingobsticals #thegiftoftherapy

Mood journaling is a great way to understand what works and doesn't work for you. Especially at work! *Regularly making a note of how you are feeling, with a short description of possibly why can help you connect with yourself better and give you great insights into what time of day or what activities put you in a good or bad mood. *Then all you need to do is glance over all the information, and find patterns. Do what makes you feel better, and avoid the things that don't. If you can't avoid the latter, you can plan on how to deal with them so that they don't bring you down. *Using colour can make it easy for you to visually assimilate the information at a glance. You can even make colourful graphs! We'll create a cheat sheet for that too. *Drawing smilies can feel good. It's a great way to express how you are really feeling. If you are feeling a mixture of emotions you can try drawing that out too - tell us about it! . . . #moodjournaling #moodjournalling #mymoodcircle #trackyourmoods #usingcolours #smilies #knowyourselfbetter #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthtips #mentalhealthawareness

The 52-17 minute rule may sound counter intuitive because if you have a lot to do you want to leave everything and do just that! But after 52 minutes your ability to focus diminishes and your efficiency dips. For example, if you are writing something, you might feel like you are hitting a mental block. A 17 minute break serves to rejuvenate the mind. When you get back to your work after it, your mind is sharper again. You get more done than if you had stuck around doing the task. . . . #mentalhealthtips #focusbetter #getmoredoneinlesstime #mentalhealthandyou #focus #mentalwellness @mentalwellbeingtips #efficiencychallenge #mymoodcircle #mentalhealthapp #therapists
