In 2019, Leigha Murphy received her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner. At that same time, her mother was diagnosed with cancer. “I always thought I would work in a family healthcare setting as a nurse practitioner,” shares Murphy. “Once my mother’s journey began, I knew I belonged in hospice caregiving.” The hospice care journey is different for everyone, says Murphy. In our series, #givingmeaningtocaregiving, we share how our team members are inspired by their work. During this #CNAWeek, meet McKinsey Gosman from our nursing team. "What led me to hospice, honestly, was my grandfather’s cancer diagnosis. I wanted to be part of the team caring for him in his final days. Additionally, as a single mother of two, I knew I needed the flexibility to be a good mother while still working full time. I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with Paradigm Health serving Hamilton County, where my primary responsibility is ensuring our patients' comfort. I became a CNA 12 years ago and have always enjoyed patient care, but after nine years of working in a facility, it became overwhelming. I tried agency work, but it wasn't the right fit for me either.  Then I found Paradigm Health, and it is a perfect fit. "

Today, and every day we celebrate the fathers and father-like role models in all our lives. Paradigm Health hospice patient Hugh Wolf was and is an incredible role model for his family. His son Bruce offers up some of the “words of wisdom” Hugh has shared with him and others throughout his life.
