This weekend N3B employees Jerrod Vanlandingham, Mark Livesay, Brandon Fryar and Scott Rygh participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters Drive for Matches Golf Tournament fundraiser. The funds raised through this event go toward carefully matching children with caring adult mentors and providing ongoing support to the child, the volunteer mentor and the child's family. N3B's sponsorship was made as a part of its commitment to provide five percent of its earned fee over the life of the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract to benefit community organizations and support workforce development initiatives in Northern New Mexico.

EM Senior Advisor Candice Robertson recently traveled to Los Alamos to meet with local community leaders and the EM workforce to get a firsthand look at sustained progress underway. This is Robertson’s first visit to an EM cleanup site since being named head of the cleanup program in June. In addition to meeting a wide range of stakeholders, she participated in a town-hall style event, toured the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) legacy cleanup site, and visited with EM Los Alamos Field Office and Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos senior management and employees. Robertson emphasized the importance of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) and the LANL cleanup mission. “What you all are doing here is some of our highest priority work across the complex, both in terms of the fact that the state of New Mexico has two key sites for EM — LANL and WIPP,” Robertson said to the EM workforce. “And what you do here matters greatly to the state of New Mexico for continued support for WIPP, which enables cleanup progress across the entire complex.” More details here: https://bit.ly/3LQ0I06

The Environmental Management Los Alamos Field Office (EM-LA), and its legacy cleanup contractor, Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos (N3B), recently hosted a public Environmental Management Cleanup Forum (EMCF) to inform the public on how thousands of water and soil samples taken annually across the Los Alamos National Laboratory site inform cleanup.   Learn more about the EMCF from the most recent issue of EM Update: https://lnkd.in/gAXSAJhp....
