As Northern Uganda's Lamwo and Kitgum districts work to rebuild after years of civil war, the Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet) contributes to creating more resilient communities. By focusing on empowering women, girls, and people with disabilities, ERONet tackles the deep-rooted challenges that continue to affect the region, like access to clean water, through student-led E-STEM projects. True friendships don’t appear out of thin air—they take time, nurturing, and trust. Meaningful and long-lasting organizational partnerships are no different. CorpsTHAT, USDA Forest Service, and the Urban Connections Program demonstrate how individuals of all ages, abilities, and skill levels have a place in taking care of our national forests. This partnership has grown over the years and through inclusive and intentional efforts, this collective is driving positive change across Vermont’s forests. Getting children outdoors improves both mental health and academics while helping to develop an appreciation for nature in their local communities. This past September 23–26, Decorah, Iowa, fourth-graders participated in the School of the Wild program developed by University of Iowa College of Education. The program took students to a variety of outdoor locations, from prairies to ice caves, for active learning. Read more about the experience here: https://lnkd.in/gR8fEzyx #EnvironmentalEducation
