Throughout the day, we reconnected with old friends, made new connections, and learned from others during sessions covering topics from Compensation and Human Capital to AI Strategy Oversight. Thank you to Lisa Barry Frist, Claims Advocate at McGriff; Jake Parsons, Forensic Accountant & Claim Consultant at Stout; and Adam Solander, Data, Privacy and Security Attorney at King & Spalding, for a discussion on cybersecurity resiliency moderated by Cal Smith, Partner at King & Spalding Some key take aways were: •The top four trends in cybersecurity threats are: (1) ransomware, with the average payment of 17.3 million dollars; (2) the threat of releasing data on the dark web if the ransom is not paid; (3) AI-powered attacks, such as threat actors impersonating executive voices to wire money or change credentials; and (4) supply chain attacks, where attackers increasingly target software vendors, service providers, or other third-party suppliers to gain access to broader networks. •Industries primarily targeted are manufacturing, financial institutions, retail, healthcare, and professional services. •A business impact analysis (BIA) is a process that assesses the security risks associated with potential system breakdowns and identifies resiliency strategies that ensure business continuity during a cyber incident. By combining an incident response plan with a comprehensive BIA, organizations can minimize the effects of a cyber incident. Share your event take aways in the comments below.
