Summit delivered an exceptional experience, offering dynamic workshops across seven key tracks. Highlights included cutting-edge sessions on "AI Governance Strategy and Risk", led by Grant Thornton (US); "Audit Committee Oversight", led by KPMG US; and "Strategic Oversight", led by EY. The Mainstage was equally impressive. It showcased prominent NACD Northern California Chapter leaders, such as Nora M. Denzel, Tarang Amin, and our chapter board member Maggie Wilderotter. 🌟 Northern California highlights from Monday at #NACDSummit2024! 🌟 We had some incredible sessions yesterday, packed with valuable insights for directors and executives. Here are three standout events from our Northern California community. 1️⃣ “When Public Meets Private – Secrets to Make the Most of a Significant Transaction”: Chitra Nayak and Christine Gorjanc shared key strategies for navigating the complexities when a public company decides to acquire a similarly sized, privately held company. It was a deep dive into making these significant transactions successful. 2️⃣ “The Art of Steering: Governance in Venture Capital-Backed Companies”: Ira Ehrenpreis, Claudia Fan Munce, and Anthony Soohoo explored the unique challenges of managing and leading boards within VC-backed private companies, including the role of an independent director. NACD Northern California Leadership Council Members Kumar R Parakala and Joseph Talmadge joined to support our panelists and enjoy the rich discussion. 3️⃣ “CEO Leadership in the Age of AI: Finding the Right Fit CEO for the Future”: Amy Wilkinson delivered a compelling, forward-thinking perspective on how AI is reshaping leadership.
