A Message from NACUBO President and CEO Kara Freeman, CAE: Our hearts are with our colleagues in the Southeast who are dealing with the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The level of destruction brought by this storm is in many ways unprecedented, and its impact on some of our institutions has been immense. I have heard several first-hand accounts of the heroic work of campus teams as they try to restore power, reopen facilities, and assist those in need in their larger communities. I remain in touch with SACUBO-Southern Association of College and University Business Officers President Darrell Duncan, CPA, MAcc, MBA, as well as with our colleague associations in Washington, DC, to understand the extent of the damage and recovery needs and to be ready to assist where we can be helpful. Those interested in direct support of relief efforts should consider donations to the American Red Cross and other national and state relief organizations. We will be sharing additional information about resources when we can confirm their availability. The days ahead will be difficult, but we know that our institutions and the communities they serve are resilient. For those who have been directly impacted, please know that NACUBO is here for you.

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR), EDUCAUSE, and NACUBO have released the Change With Analytics Playbook, a comprehensive resource designed to support institutions in creating a culture and capacity for strategic data use. The free resource contains 16 “plays” for data leaders to follow in order to make significant progress on their institution’s analytics goals. “Higher education is navigating many challenges that could be better addressed by the strategic use of analytics,” said NACUBO President and CEO Kara Freeman, CAE. “But since using the data itself can be a challenge, our associations created this resource to help colleges and universities take some initial and important steps toward creating cultures and building capacities that will allow them to leverage analytics to the benefit of the institution, its students, and its mission. I am excited by this work and appreciate the continued collaboration with our colleagues at AIR and EDUCAUSE.” The project, generously funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, included input from representatives of seven institutions: Arcadia University, Elgin Community College, Jackson State University, Mercy University, the University of Central Florida, the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and the University of North Texas Learn more and access the free playbook: https://lnkd.in/gFQNFSU #HigherEducation #ChangeWithAnalytics
