Today, NAIC President Andrew Mais talked to nine TV and nine radio stations, encouraging viewers of all ages to make insurance a priority and contact their trusted local agent and their state department of insurance (DOI) with any questions ahead of a natural disaster or event that could compromise the coverage of their assets or policy. “The good news is that there are independent resources to help consumers get answers to insurance questions and ensure there are no gaps in their coverage.” Find out how to contact each state DOI at the NAIC’s website. Gen Z is stressed out about insurance, according to a new survey commissioned by the NAIC. Over half of respondents (54%) shared they feel “overwhelmed or anxious” at “the thought of dealing with insurance.” #NAICSMT2024

A new NAIC survey finds 35% of Gen Z adults currently pay for a cellphone protection plan, while only 21% have renters insurance. NAIC President Andrew Mais is talking to TV and radio audiences about the survey and more during his satellite media tour this morning. #NAICSMT2024

Today, Andrew Mais, President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and Commissioner of the Connecticut Insurance Department, is hosting a satellite media tour at University of Connecticut-Stamford to share why Americans, especially young adults, need to prioritize insurance as part of their financial planning. President Mais will unveil results of a new NAIC-commissioned survey on Gen Z adults and their awareness about insurance. As it turns out, over half of respondents ages 18 to 27 said they feel “overwhelmed or anxious” at “the thought of dealing with insurance.” “The good news is that there are independent resources to help consumers get answers to insurance questions and ensure there are no gaps in their coverage,” Mais said. #NAICSMT2024
