We’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at Nanit’s latest tech update through the lens of our Android Developer, Andrii Afanasenko. In a recent Medium article, Andrii highlights Nanit's adoption of Compose Multiplatform (CMP)—a powerful new approach enabling our tech team to build app features faster and more efficiently across both iOS and Android platforms. With CMP, we’re able to create a consistent, high-quality experience for parents no matter what device they use. This shift allows us to reduce development time, minimize errors, and streamline our efforts so we can continue delivering the best tools for tracking baby sleep and wellness. To learn more about how CMP powers our app experience, read Andrii’s full post here: https://lnkd.in/gBXu7M8j

What an amazing two weeks in Australia! I had the privilege of connecting with top experts and universities, including Dr. Bei Bei, Dr. Jane Fisher, Dr. Cele Richardson, and Dr. Dimple Goel, to present Nanit’s latest innovations in technology and data. It was a joy to join The Memo, a trusted baby shopping destination where parents can build registries and shop for must-have, parent-approved items, for a TikTok Live. During the session, we discussed how Nanit stands apart by delivering personalized insights and research-level data to help parents make more confident decisions. We also answered new parents’ questions about supporting healthy sleep habits, including managing overnight feedings and helping babies sleep longer at night. If you missed The Memo’s TikTok Live, you can catch the replay here: https://lnkd.in/eY7Dk45D. I also had the pleasure of hosting an intimate morning tea with parenting and lifestyle influencers, including both new and expecting parents, where we explored the incredible impact of Nanit. It was a wonderful opportunity to introduce Nanit to new families while hearing firsthand from experienced users about how our technology has transformed their sleep routines. A true highlight of the trip was meeting Dr. Golly, a brilliant pediatric expert, and connecting with Nanit parents who shared their personal success stories. Thank you to everyone who made this trip so special! As an Aussie, it was a full-circle moment to share how Nanit empowers families worldwide to understand their baby’s patterns and wellness holistically, all while making informed decisions, right in Melbourne.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and at Nanit, we believe that better sleep is an integral part of fostering positive mental health—especially for parents. It is the reason we started with sleep as a core tenet when developing our product. Our belief was, and continues to be, that by providing a clearer picture of how babies are sleeping, we can enable parents to foster better sleep habits that lead to their baby's sleep success, and also get more rest themselves. Fast forward to present day, and we're seeing that Nanit babies sleep 10% more than average - that's over 401 hours of sleep per year - and Nanit parents gain an average of 36 extra nights of sleep per year. The benefit of extra rest also extends to mental health in such important ways: - Our research at Nanit Lab found that among parents who noticed symptoms of anxiety and depression, sleep problems were the most commonly reported. In fact, 71% of Nanit families report feeling less anxious after using Nanit to track their baby's sleep. - A recent study from Nanit Lab found that toddlers in households with greater consistency and lower levels of chaos slept an average of 20 minutes longer and followed more consistent bedtime routines compared to those in more chaotic environments. - A 2023 Nanit Lab study found that mothers who had help with nighttime infant care slept 20 minutes longer on average and reported better mental health, with significantly lower depression scores. As part of our aim to transform the parenting experience, we cannot ignore how important parental mental health is and the role it plays as we continue to innovate at Nanit. By providing parents with peace of mind through our innovative breathing wear, smart monitors, and sleep tracking tools, we’re developing new solutions that can drive better outcomes. Because when parents sleep better, their mental health—and their ability to care for their little ones—improves too. Let’s continue to prioritize mental health and support one another in this journey. 💙 #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness #ParentingSupport #Nanit

I'm thrilled to be attending the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS) Sleep Europe Congress this year, representing the incredible Nanit Lab team! We’re proud to be presenting five abstracts that showcase our ongoing commitment to advancing pediatric sleep research and improving the lives of parents and their little ones. Our studies focus on key areas such as the relationship between parental insomnia and work productivity, the impact of teething on infant sleep, how household chaos affects toddler sleep, and how behaviors like bedtime procrastination influence both parents and infants. What ties these studies together is the vital role data plays in understanding and addressing real-world parenting challenges. At Nanit, we believe in empowering parents to make informed, data-driven decisions to support their families' well-being. The insights from our research help lighten the mental load of parenting by providing practical solutions to sleep struggles—whether it's navigating early wake times, bedtime routines, or debunking common sleep myths around teething. I’m also proud to recognize the contributions of Dr. Maristella Lucchini and Shambhavi Thakur from Nanit Lab, along with our academic research collaborators: Rebecca Robbins, PhD MS from Harvard, Emily Oster from Brown, Michal Kahn from TAU, Soo Yeon (Aly) Suh from Sungshin Women's University, Sarah Berger from CUNY, and Liat Tikotzky from BGU. As we continue to push the boundaries of sleep research, I’m incredibly excited to see how these data will help parents reclaim a little more sleep and peace of mind. And the best part of course - presenting work with colleagues from around the world who are now old buddies! 😍
