🤔 Do you know what your #liposomes & #LNPs look like? Cryo-TEM imaging allows you a first hand look at #liposomal formulations, including #lipidnanoparticles, drug encapsulated liposomes, and #micelles. 🔬 Quantitative analysis of #cryoTEM imaging studies provides data about #morphology, #payload, #lamellarity, and #blebbing, helps assess the impact of process changes, lot comparison, stability of formulations, release assays, and more. 👀 Learn more about phase appropriate characterization of lipid nanoformulations: https://lnkd.in/gSsbZFas

📑 In the paper “Structure of native HIV-1 cores and their interactions with IP6 and CypA” by Ni et al., researchers investigated the structure and interactions of the HIV-1 viral #capsid with host factors. 👨🔬 To overcome challenges in studying the native capsid, researchers utilized perfringolysin O (PFO) to perforate the membrane of #HIV-1 virus-like particles (#VLPs), enabling access to the capsid. 🔬 Using #singleparticle analysis, cryo-electron #tomography and #subtomogram averaging, the structures of native capsomers were determined in the presence and absence of inositol hexakisphosphate (IP6) and cyclophilin A (CypA). 👀 Read the paper and see the structures: https://lnkd.in/gU2gSEkC ➡️ Learn more how tomography can help reveal structures: https://lnkd.in/gt7nY5TM

💡 #GLP-1R drugs are a class of #GPCR drugs which have recently risen in popularity. 35 of the 50 GLP-1R structures currently deposited into the PDB were solved with #cryoEM. 🔬 Further, the majority of the cryo-EM structures are full-length GLP-1R in complex with the trimeric g-proteins and native ligands or potential drugs that bind to the orthosteric site as agonists to promote activation. 📓 Learn more in our newest blog: https://lnkd.in/gYDSQ6tY
