My 1st time PEGS. My 1st time Barcelona. My, oh my! I am excited. You have the experience: how can I make the most out of it? With whom should I connect there? Which talks should I listen to? Which networking events? I am here - I‘ll be there to learn from you. Let‘s see, if the city is as Freddie sings. Viva la Barcelona! #biotechnology #entrepreneurship #startup ————————— I am Philipp - founder, CEO & business angel. Some people say it's impossible to measure binding kinetics of small molecules free in-solution. We disagree! Our Dianthus instrument has just unlocked a new capability that has long been awaited in the biophysics community: measuring slow binding kinetics free in-solution. Spectral Shift can be used to characterize the potency and reactivity of covalent ligands with precision — this is especially important now, as covalent modalities are showing lots of potential. Thanks to our collaboration with CRELUX, a WuXi AppTec Company, we successfully demonstrated this groundbreaking feature by analyzing Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) as our drug target. You can see the results in the screenshot of our new 'Covalent Kinetics Analysis' software. We are now starting to gather feedback on the software from our Dianthus instrument users. If you want to join the beta test, please comment below, DM us, or reach out to your local NanoTemper representative!

Job applications: Why you don't get an explanation for the "No" & how I got sued doing so New Job-Ad online. A lot of emails. Then - a phone call. A candidate for accounting. Man, deep voice: "did you get my printed application? How's work at NanoTemper?" Yes, got it. Cool people, inspiring work. Focus on digital tools, a lot in the cloud. Pause. A throat clearing. He says with an unpleasant, unfriendly voice: “I don’t like Emails and all this new stuff. Can do my work much better with pen 'n paper.” Obvious that he doesn’t fit. We’ve always been very digital. And friendly. I wanted to be fair. So I’ve wrote him, that he doesn’t fit to the job because he has no experience with digital tools. Turned out he was 63 years old. After getting my written “No” he sued us. He sued us for discriminating him because of his age. My 2 mistakes: 1. The text in the virtual Job-Ad: "we are a young StartUp with a young and dynamic team." 2. I've wrote him a concrete answer. An explanation for the No. What we then discovered in the negotiations with him: This person looked actively for companies making the mistake to state "we are young" in their job ads. He then applied there. Then got his “No” and then sued them. Like us. This was his business model. Sad but true: our laws enable this. He'll win the lawsuite. This is WHAT every recruiter is afraid of: to get sued - very bad for your career, you've might even loose your job. This is WHY you don't get an answer. This is not good, this is bad. My opinion: Every applicant deserves a honest feedback. I am not afraid of the 0,1% who might sue me. I'll care about the 99,9% who will not. What is your opinion? #biotechnology #entrepreneurship #startup ————————— I am Philipp - founder, CEO & business angel.
