In virtual production, the Virtual Art Department (VAD) frequently collaborates closely with the production designer and the VFX supervisor, often on a daily basis. Safari Sosebee, in sharing his experiences, highlights the nuanced process of integrating physical and virtual sets, especially during set extensions. This approach is valuable not just for in-camera VFX but also for traditional VFX as well. The VAD in this example helps with a process that serves as a bridge between the art department and VFX, helping them visualize their sets and backgrounds quickly, with the right lighting, set design and camera.
