Meet Your Board: MSW Student Representative: Rin Ujikawa, (she/her) Professionally, I worked as a nurses aide in a nursing home and hospital and facilitated a flyer outreach campaign encouraging family and friends of incarcerated people to vote. I also worked at the Wisconsin Department of Justice translating crime victim letters into plain language and currently work for a domestic violence helpline. I’ve volunteered at a free law clinic to decrease barriers to legal assistance. Academically, at the City of Madison, I created a communication plan as a guide to help streamline communication between city staff and historically marginalized groups to promote more equity in the political process.

Today is Yom Kippur, the day of atonement and one of the holiest, most solemn days on the Jewish calendar. Don't forget to greet your friends and family who participate in this holiday by using greetings such as "Easy Fast" or in Hebrew "Tzom Kal." The traditional Yom Kippur greeting is "G'mar Hatimah Tovah" or "May You Be Sealed for a Good Year (in the Book of Life)." To all those celebrating, G'mar Htimah Tovah!
