ACO Drivers for Success: Leveraging Data and Tools Another key strategy identified in NAACOS' ACO Drivers for Success report is leveraging data and tools. Timely, actionable data is essential for #accountablecare and allows providers to identify trends in utilization and quality. While many ACOs develop in-house analytics capabilities, many also partner with vendors to facilitate the use of data. NAACOS' business partners work closely with ACOs to develop custom solutions, such as those highlighted in our recent ACO Showdown event. Learn more about how ACOs are leveraging data and tools to advance #populationhealth in the full report: https://lnkd.in/eQyQSvp5 You can also hear directly from successful ACOs on their strategies at the NAACOS fall conference on October 16-18 in Washington, DC, don’t miss out! Patient engagement is critical to the success of any ACO and ACOs work to engage patients in a variety of ways, including by: 🤝 Developing strong, positive relationships with patients based on trust, collaboration, and open dialogue, 👩🏫 Educating patients about key ACO initiatives to support healthy behaviors, 💬 Soliciting feedback and incorporating patient perspectives, such as by involving patients in ACO governance or advisory committees, and more! NAACOS recently created an orientation video to help better engage ACO beneficiary board representatives: https://lnkd.in/gxtKgBUE Medicare ACOs are required to have a beneficiary representative on the board, and this video aims to help beneficiaries become acclimated to the role. It includes an overview of ACOs and #valuebasedcare, information on how to be an active patient representative, tips from an experienced ACO beneficiary board representative, and resources to support beneficiaries in the role. It's no surprise that effectively engaging patients in their care emerged as one of the key ACO Drivers for Success in NAACOS' recent report. ACO Drivers for Success: Working Across Payers 🔐 The second key strategy of successful ACOs uncovered in NAACOS' ACO Drivers for Success report (https://lnkd.in/eQyQSvp5) is working across payers. ACOs found their transition to #valuebasedcare gained momentum when they had arrangements across different payers, rather than managing #accountablecare for a small subset of patients. Inconsistent policies or program designs among payers can create challenges and increase administrative burden, so streamlining these elements is critical. 🔍 Want to learn more about streamlining your VBC arrangements across payers? NAACOS is hosting a Payer-Provider Forum at the 2024 Fall Conference, led by Diwen Chen. This pre-conference session will bring together NAACOS members and payers to identify best practices, challenges, and solutions for building optimal payer and provider engagements. Providers and payers will have an opportunity to deep dive into the principles of value-based care contracting through panel discussions, live Q&A, and table discussions. ⌚ When: Wednesday, October 16 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm ET 📝 Separate registration is required from the main meeting. ✅ Find out more and register today: https://lnkd.in/dhcreSjG #healthleadership #healthcareinnovation #paymentreform

Building a High-Value Culture: A Key Strategy of Successful ACOs For over a decade, ACOs have made great strides in fulfilling the promise of value-based care: a health care system that is less complex, more supportive, and focused on keeping patients healthy and delivering positive outcomes. How are successful ACOs achieving these goals? NAACOS conducted a series of interviews with leadership of high-performing ACOs and reviewed literature on ACO strategies to understand what goes into the “secret sauce” of ACO success, which uncovered five key “ingredients.” One of those ingredients is a high-value culture, driven by strong visionary leadership and a commitment to accountable care. Trust in leadership and a culture of continuous learning are vital to shift the organizational mindset to proactive, population health care. How is your organization working to create a culture of value? Learn more in the full ACO Drivers for Success resource: https://lnkd.in/eQyQSvp5 You can also hear directly from successful ACOs on their strategies at the NAACOS fall conference on October 16-18 in Washington, DC, don’t miss out!
