We’re launching "We Do Declare: Women’s Voices on Independence," a multi-year oral history and education project that explores the multifaceted meaning of independence to women in their own lives over the past 50 years through the lens of economic power. Timed with today’s 50th anniversary of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), which made it illegal for banks to discriminate against women applying for loans based on their sex or marital status, our first set of oral histories commemorate this important historical milestone for women and their economic independence. Learn more about how the ECOA came to be from the woman who helped pass the law, and those who benefitted from its passage. https://s.si.edu/48mNQJe

This dynamic, participant-driven workshop at #GCI2024 will explore how to leverage the unique strengths of in-house counsel, law firms, and alternative legal service providers in your legal department. According to ACC's 2023 CLO Survey, rightsourcing is the second highest priority for CLOs and GCs. In a dynamic and fast-moving legal landscape, it is more essential than ever for legal departments to find both the most efficient and the most cost-effective ways to meet the many legal needs of the business. The new #NAWLResearch Report is a culmination of our data collection to answer the question, "Is it better for women lawyers in-house?" We asked what the "pros" are of both in-house and law firm workplaces. The results surprised us -- and so did the "cons." Explore the Report for all our findings, on our website. A special shoutout to our NAWL Research Committee Co-Chairs, Kim Hughes and Elizabeth Manno, and to our researcher, Dr. Destiny Peery. #NAWLReport #inhouse #lawfirm #womenlawyers #NAWL #NAWLWomenInLaw

⭐ The new #NAWLResearch Report is here! ⭐ For the first time, instead of surveying law firms, NAWL surveyed individual in-house counsel. We wanted data comparing the pros and cons of in-house versus law firm positions. The results of this year’s survey shed light on the ongoing debate over whether in-house positions offer superior environments for women and other minorities. Discover what we learned: https://lnkd.in/geaR43rn 💬 Do our findings surprise you? #NAWL #InHouse #LawFirm #WomenLawyers
