About us

NASTF is a not-for-profit created to facilitate the transfer of service information, training and tools between the OEM vehicle manufacturer and the non-franchise professional technician working in the U.S.A. Participation in NASTF is open to all companies and individuals who support the NASTF mission. Mission: The National Automotive Service Task Force will facilitate the identification and correction of gaps in the availability and accessibility of automotive service information, training, diagnostic tools and equipment, and communications to automotive service professionals. Vision: Driving a professional, well-resourced vehicle service industry by uniting competent and diverse teams to solve industry-wide problems and effectively communicate solutions.

  • Meet Isaac Rodell! Isaac is a true diagnostics renaissance man, running a mobile diagnostics business while also being one of the industry’s top educators. His passion for teaching and technology shines through as he builds custom laptop computers, ensuring that repairers—regardless of their IT skills—can effectively run legitimate automaker software for their business. In addition to his impressive technical expertise, Isaac plays an active role on several of our sub-committees, helping NASTF stay on top of the latest intel regarding the needs of diagnosticians.

  • NASTF is equipped with their very own Education Team, committed to facilitating the availability and accessibility of technical training resources, originated by or managed by automakers, to independent technicians. This team regularly engages with automakers to ensure independent technicians and trainers have access to aftermarket education resources, communicate the successes and challenges of the use/licensing of OEM content and identify any potential training gaps.   • Founded in 2000, the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) is a 501 C6 not-for-profit organization established in 2000 by automakers and the independent aftermarket to identify and resolve gaps in service information, tool information, and training. For the last 24 years, the mission has been to facilitate the identification and correction of gaps in the availability and accessibility of automotive service information, training, diagnostic tools and equipment, and communications to automotive service professionals.

While there, he addressed key industry topics such as auto theft prevention and the vital role NASTF plays in protecting vehicle security.
