Most importantly, we’re relieved to share that all residents in our Asheville communities are safe and injury-free. While we are dedicated to our recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene, we want to emphasize that it will take many weeks before life returns to normal. Both of our buildings currently have electricity, and we’re on fire watch. While businesses are beginning to reopen, the city water supply remains a significant challenge. To ensure our residents have access to water, we are using tanker trucks to supply running water to all apartments. Residents can shower in their units and cook with boiled water, and we also have mobile shower and toilet units available on-site. As we continue to make progress, we’ll provide further updates. In the meantime, we'd like to invite you to consider donating to our emergency relief fund to support ongoing recovery efforts. Your support truly makes a difference! > https://lnkd.in/eSQ8AXvp Thank you for standing with us during this challenging time. #NationalChurchResidences #HurricaneHelene #AshevilleNC #CommunitySupport #EmergencyRelief

National Church Residences, in partnership with the City of Toledo, Lucas County, and Lucas Metropolitan Housing, is excited to embark on this journey, made possible by a remarkable commitment of $3 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds from the City and an additional $3.7 million allocated by the Lucas County Board of Commissioners. As we stood shoulder to shoulder with the Mayor of the City of Toledo, U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur (D-OH-09); Board of Lucas County Commissioners represented by Pete Gerken, Anita Lopez and Lisa A. Sobecki; Toledo Housing and Community Development Director Rosalyn Clemens; Lucas Metropolitan Housing (LMH) President and CEO Senghor Manns; LMH Board Chair Alisha Gant; National Church Residences Vice President of Housing Development Amy Rosenthal; Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio, Inc. In partnership with the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition and National Church Residences, the National Equity Fund, Inc. (NEF) welcomed Ohio Congressman Michael T.W. Carey for a tour of Avondale Senior Village in Dublin, OH. The visit included a discussion on the pressing need for affordable senior housing. During the visit the Congressman also took time to speak to some Avondale residents on issues impacting older adults. Congressman Carey is a co-sponsor of legislation that would improve and expand the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program (H.R. 3238), allowing for the development of more affordable housing across the country. We are grateful to Congressman Carey and his staff for taking the time to learn more about these important issues! #NationalChurchResidences #AffordableHousing #SeniorHousing

As former President Jimmy Carter celebrates his 100th birthday, his decision to choose home hospice care has brought attention to the importance of comfort and quality of life in end-of-life care. Like Carter, many patients opt for hospice services that allow them to remain in the comfort of their own homes > https://lnkd.in/gUR_Mwjw At National Church Residences, we’re committed to providing the same compassionate hospice care, whether at home, in assisted living, or in nursing facilities. Our care teams work closely with families to create a plan that focuses on comfort and dignity. Just as Carter has shown us, hospice care can be a meaningful and fulfilling choice.
