Researchers have mapped the complete set of neuronal connections in the fruit fly brain—the first complete connectome map for an adult animal brain. Fruit flies may be small animals, but the insights we gain from understanding their brains are mighty, providing a critical stepping stone to understanding and mapping the neural landscape of larger-brained animals. The connectome map, created with support from the National Institutes of Health’s BRAIN Initiative, enables researchers to understand the brain at new levels of detail in health and disease, improving how we treat, prevent, and cure brain disorders. #studyBRAIN https://go.nih.gov/8QpW56H

Join us on October 10, from 1:00–2:30 p.m. ET, for a webinar: Improving Mental Health Equity for Individuals with Neurodevelopmental Conditions: An Examination of Risk and Protective Factors and Potential Interventions. Emerging research shows that depression, suicidality, and other mental health disorders are more common among autistic people and those with neurodevelopmental conditions compared to the general population. However, people with neurodevelopmental conditions have often been excluded from mental health research and clinical trials, leading to fewer treatment options that meet the needs of individuals, families, and providers. This webinar will feature two experts sharing new insights and potential solutions. Register to attend! https://go.nih.gov/5RMG7aF
