🌿 A First in Conservation Education! 🌿 The USDA Forest Service Job Corps is paving the way for a new generation of conservationists with the launch of their innovative conservation education program. Piloted at three Civilian Conservation Centers (CCCs), this program offers students hands-on experience in critical areas like forestry, wildlife management, hydrology, and environmental restoration. Through partnerships with national forests and the Society of American Foresters, the program aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of the Forest Service's mission and raise awareness about potential careers in conservation. Students not only learn about the environment but also gain practical skills through outdoor training and community projects, such as trail maintenance and habitat restoration. This immersive experience helps build a foundation for environmental literacy, giving students—many of whom have had limited access to nature—a chance to connect with the outdoors and explore career opportunities in fields they may have never considered. For many students, the hands-on learning experience has been transformative. "I’m more of a hands-on guy," said Matthew Powell, a masonry and fire student at Blackwell CCC. "So, getting to walk through the forest and see all the different types of plants—that interested me." Similarly, Gavin Dalle Ave, a carpentry student at Blackwell CCC, shared, "I love to be there working hands-on, not just sitting down and listening. This really gave me a new perspective." As Nancy Chapman, program coordinator for the Job Corps National Office, noted, “The CCCs have an obligation inherent in their name to provide conservation education to all of our students." With this program, students are equipped with valuable knowledge and practical experience, offering a direct path to future careers in the Forest Service and other public land management agencies. This initiative is part of a larger effort to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards and expand opportunities for underserved youth to enter conservation-related fields. Students leave with not just job-ready skills but also a deeper connection to nature and the tools to help protect it for future generations. #ConservationEducation #JobCorps #ForestService #JobCorps60 #NJCA #JobCorpsSuccess #CareersInConservation #HandsOnLearning #FutureLeaders #EnvironmentalStewardship Representative Tom Tiffany Representative Tammy Baldwin US Senator Ron Johnson

🤝 Making a Difference at the Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps Center! 🎉 Recently, dedicated students from Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps volunteered at “Game Day with Dad,” an inspiring event hosted by our community partner, AFIRM (A Father’s Involvement Really Matters). This event was a wonderful opportunity for our students to engage with fathers and their children, fostering connections and building community spirit. David Wesley, an accounting student at the Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps, shared his experience: “Helping those little kids was fun! They are very competitive, but I still won.” 🏆 This event not only provided a chance for our students to give back but also helped promote the valuable opportunities available at our campus. We are proud of our students for their commitment to service and community involvement! Together, we’re creating a positive impact and inspiring the next generation. 💪 #JobCorps #CommunityService #AFIRM #MakingADifference #FutureLeaders #JobCorps60 #NJCA #JobCorpsSuccess Marsha Blackburn Bill Hagerty Representative Steve Cohen

🌟 Transforming Lives and Careers at Job Corps! 🌟 In a powerful segment featured on WGN-TV, the Paul Simon Job Corps Center in Chicago is making waves by not only training students in essential building trades but also addressing a surprising need in the healthcare sector. As highlighted in the video, students at the center are gaining hands-on experience in fields like bricklaying, carpentry, and painting, while also preparing for rewarding careers as pharmacy technicians. This innovative approach is equipping young people aged 16 to 24 with the skills needed for trades, including high-demand healthcare roles. Job Corps student Josetta Blade exemplifies success, having completed an internship with CVS Health and landing a job that can pay up to $56,000 a year. She shared, "It's something I could see myself doing and enjoying." This collaboration with CVS Health not only opens doors for Job Corps students but also helps fill critical workforce gaps in our economy. As Viv Harper, Workforce Initiatives Manager for CVS, puts it, "Having skilled individuals prepare for the workforce is unmatched." With changing perceptions around traditional education pathways, Job Corps is paving the way for meaningful careers without the burden of student debt. 👉 Watch the full segment to see how Job Corps is changing lives and building futures! #JobCorps #CareerTraining #SuccessStories #PharmacyTechnician #HealthcareCareers #BuildingTrades #JobCorpsWorks #JobCorps60 #NJCA #JobCorpsSuccessStory #LevelUp #CVS Senator Tammy Duckworth Richard Durbin
