Last month, the #MLTSS Association had the pleasure of presenting at the Medicaid Health Plans of America (MHPA) Conference, where we spoke about the need for improved #consumernavigation for the dually eligible population. As of 2021, there are over 12.8 million dually eligible beneficiaries nationwide, which account for a disproportionate share of spending across both the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Several issues contribute to the complex nature of navigating integrated care in this dual-eligible market, including: -Lack of centralized resources -Enrollment assisters at capacity -Medicare plan finder challenges not equipped to share information across both programs -Complicated state & federal marketing impeding abilities to educate consumers At the MLTSS Association, we asked our plans how we can improve consumer navigation for dual-eligibles both pre and post-enrollment. Thank you Josh Boynton, CareSource, for your expert facilitation! IntellectAbility was thrilled to be given space to discuss best practices for managed care plans supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) at the 2024 National MLTSS Health Plan Association Leadership Summit. And kudos to my panelist colleagues Kris Kubnick, Elevance Health, Thomas Mangrum, PROJECT ACTION, and session sponsor, David Rogers, Independent Living Systems, LLC, who made the panel come alive!
ILS had the privilege to sponsor a general session today at this year's MLTSS Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., focused on enhancing services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). ILS President David Rogers joined a panel to discuss strategies for demonstrating organizational readiness for the IDD population, from the RFP process through to go-live and implementation. The panel also addressed key challenges and explored innovative solutions to promote health equity, reduce member and provider friction, and manage costs across managed care operations, all aimed at better serving this vulnerable community. Thank you to the National MLTSS Health Plan Association for providing an invaluable platform to share these important discussions!

Had a great time representing QCSS Health at the MLTSS Leadership Summit in DC last week to engage in discussions around solutions to the biggest challenges facing MLTSS (Managed Long-Term Services & Support) health plans today. It was especially great seeing the audience engage during our breakout session, led by Matthew King and Elaine Aguirre, on the impact of improving the accuracy of the comprehensive home care assessment - the foundation of a strong MLTSS program. Thank you to Mary Kaschak and the National MLTSS Health Plan Association for putting on an amazing summit!
