75% of battleground state voters say they’re stressed about rising food prices, and Prop 12 will only exacerbate an already bad situation as farmers are forced to raise prices to meet costs. Voters across America simply don’t want Prop 12 to continue. Recent polling shows that a majority of swing state voters want Congress to prohibit California and other individual states from setting nationwide farm animal standards. It’s time to #FixProp12. U.S. pork trade has come a long way since 1539, when Hernando de Soto’s 13 pigs first arrived in Florida. Today, thanks to Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and the work of NPPC, U.S. pork is exported to over 100 countries, driving significant economic benefits for pork producers. This #NationalPorkMonth, we celebrate the progress of U.S. pork and its global impact. Learn more about the importance of trade to the industry: https://lnkd.in/gtk27jkT.

Another big win for U.S. pork producers! The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has rejected a lawsuit from activist groups trying to impose drastic changes to EPA rules on livestock production. NPPC successfully defended pork producers' freedom to operate and protected decades of established law. Why this matters: - This lawsuit threatened the foundation of livestock production nationwide. - It sought to alter due process and redefine the Clean Water Act's application to agriculture. - NPPC's advocacy ensures pork producers can operate without undue regulatory burdens, allowing them to maintain their commitment to environmental stewardship. 🚨 ICYMI: Pork producers and veterinarians get big win on antimicrobial use. 🚨 U.S. pork producers and veterinarians secured a major win at the UN General Assembly, which rejected proposed on-farm antimicrobial use reductions. Without NPPC’s leadership, the UN could have enforced a global 30% reduction in antimicrobial use by 2030, impacting animal agriculture. Why this matters: - Veterinary autonomy preserved: Veterinarians can continue to use science-based practices through Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationships (VCPRs) to ensure proper herd health management. - Protection of herd health: Producers can continue using the necessary tools to maintain animal health and welfare without restrictive mandates. - Support for antimicrobial stewardship: NPPC remains committed to promoting programs that balance animal and human health, protecting both pigs and the food supply.
