National Press Foundation reposted this
It was a privilege to visit the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes CSKT Tribal Health Ronan Health Center, near Missoula, to learn about innovative approaches they have developed to address public health needs in the community. Thank you to the National Press Foundation’s Covering Equitable Community Development Fellowship for coordinating this visit for me and a cohort of other journalists from around the country. Special thanks to Rachel Jones, Anne Godlasky, Alyssa Black and everyone else who organized and led such an enriching week of training in Montana for all of us.

“If we only think about some of us, then the S-U-M of us dies,” Willie Underwood, III, MD, MSc, MPH, FACS told National Press Foundation fellows gathered at the University of Montana School of Journalism in Missoula for the Covering Equitable Community Development Journalism Fellowship. Reporters are already digging deep into how policies impact real people, with lessons to bring back to newsrooms nationwide. #communitydevelopment #journalism #communityjournalism #localjournalism #journalismfellowship #journalismtraining #journalismmatters +5 See insights and ads Boost post Like Comment Share

"My community is a 67% Republican community… we voted for President Donald Trump – 67% in 2020 – and yet I was run out of town on the rails in my local Republican Party meetings for saying that I believe that Joe Biden won the state of Michigan,” said Ottawa County, Michigan's Clerk/Register Justin Roebuck on the effects of misinformation. https://lnkd.in/euhihX2B
