  • We would like to congratulate Prem and his team for winning The Gas Challenge Quiz Competition in Ghana! As a petrochemical engineering student, the Gas Challenge has significantly broadened Prem’s knowledge base in natural gas engineering and processing. The competition not only enhanced his academic knowledge but also developed his teamwork skills and boosted his confidence in public speaking. He is now comfortable engaging in dialogues and presentations and is currently working on projects with his colleagues, where he will be presenting in front of many professors within his college. This remarkable achievement brought pride to his college but also established Prem as one of the most outstanding students in his department. His success has inspired many students within the department to believe that if he could achieve this, they could too. Currently, the lecturers in his college have entrusted him, along with other teaching assistants, with the responsibility of training students for the 2024 edition of the competition. Following their victory, the team had the opportunity to embark on a field trip to the gas processing plant at Atuabo in the Western Region of Ghana. There, they visited the control room to observe the process of converting natural gas into lean gas and learned about the flare stack, which burns any excess gas into the atmosphere.
