America needs more scientists, so we’re growing them ourselves! We underwrite the National STEM Scholar Program, a professional development program for middle school science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) teachers. Now in its ninth year, we have 90 STEM Scholars in 35 states: 91% teach in public schools, 43% teach in mid- to high-poverty schools, and 39% teach in communities with a population under 15,000. Fifteen are in Kentucky. By June 2025, STEM Scholars will have directly and indirectly impacted more than 156,000 middle school students in the U.S. Please support us during Give for Good Louisville on Sept. 12 as we help teachers inspire the next generation of STEM pioneers and researchers! Thanks to a generous matching grant, you can DOUBLE your impact! Unable to make it on September 12? No problem! We partner with large national organizations like the Michael J. Fox Foundation, the National MS Society, and the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) to fund promising research and clinical trials in 4 specific areas: neurodegenerative disease, autoimmune disease, rare childhood disorders and regenerative repair (orthopedics). Our partnerships effectively double donor dollars and maximize the impact of these important projects. We help develop synergies between researchers and look for opportunities to break down silos to connect researchers across institutions for collaborations that may change thinking in a field of study. Thanks to a generous matching grant, when you participate in #GiveforGoodLou on Thursday, Sept 12, you can DOUBLE your impact! Unable to make it on September 12? No problem! Thank you to Medical Product Outsourcing Magazine for the great article featuring our Cosmic Brain Organoid research study in their recent publication about work being done at the ISS National Lab to improve the treatment of neurogenerative diseases, inflammatory disorders, and vision related conditions here on Earth. As they quote Dr. Grisanti, “By developing human organoids of neurodegenerative diseases with microglia in the accelerated environment of microgravity, we have added an important new tool and a new way of looking at and understanding how and why neurodegeneration occurs.” #stemcells #research #space #PD #MS #ISS Dr. Paula Grisanti https://ow.ly/Rpyg50T5lar

What do we do? At NSCF, we collaborate with experts in the field to solve problems across three connected platforms: research, education, and advocacy. We fund promising adult stem cell research and clinical trials; underwrite the National STEM Scholar Program for middle school science teachers nationwide; and cover copays and deductibles for children participating in clinical trials for rare diseases when those out-of-pocket costs are beyond a family’s means. Our partnerships across all three platforms double donor dollars for greater impact. Please help us make a difference on #GiveforGoodLou on Thursday, September 12!
