We're wrapping up our celebration of Latinx healthcare leaders with Carlos Juan Finlay, MD. He was a Cuban epidemiologist who discovered that yellow fever is transmitted from infected mosquitos. Although he published experimental evidence of this discovery in 1886, it would take 20 years for it to be recognized.
