About us
The Navy SBIR Transition Program (Navy STP) supports the successful transition of Navy SBIR/STTR-funded technologies into military acquisition programs, commercial markets, or both. Now in its 25th year, the Navy STP serves as a platform for connecting SBIR/STTR-funded technologies with warfighters, government acquisition and technical personnel, prime contractors, system integrators, and other potential partners and collaborators. This DoN SBIR Program initiative takes a holistic approach to assisting participating small businesses in transitioning their innovative technologies that address the specific needs of the U.S. Navy. Through business mentoring, one-on-one coaching, marketing strategy development, marketing material creation, networking events, and promotional activities, the program provides comprehensive support to help small businesses navigate the complex transition process. Funded by the DoN SBIR Program, all small businesses with active Navy-funded Phase II SBIR/STTR awards are eligible to participate in the program during the first or second year of their Phase II development and demonstration work. Navy STP participating small businesses achieve a 68 percent greater likelihood of transitioning their technology than those that do not participate.

It’s Counter IED and Weapons Technologies Week! JP Innovations, LLC, is on a current Navy SBIR Phase II contract to provide innovative new technology to the warfighter! JP Innovations, LLC, Monroe, WA Title: Pulse Power for High Energy Applications, Topic #N193-146. Overview: JP Innovations, LLC and Scientific Applications and Research Associates, Inc. (SARA) propose a complete High Pulse Energy laser system. This system will consist of multiple high voltage, high current pulse power units which will drive large bore flash-lamps in multiple laser pump chambers. SARA's advanced design capacitor technology will be used to reduce the volume and weight of the energy storage capacitors. This creates a high voltage, high density energy storage capacitor in a compact, dry package. The pulse power units use optically triggered switching to mitigate electro-magnetic interference issues. The lasers will use advanced optical and opto-mechanical resonator design concepts. Navy STP will highlight the participating small businesses in this year’s Cohort. These small businesses are on a current US Navy SBIR Phase II contract developing innovative technology to meet a Navy-need. October 21 𝐃𝐀𝐔 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 - 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐅𝐂𝐈! 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞 1pm Eastern Those contracting teams and contractors who handle only Federal Contract Information (FCI) need support! DAU has a class on what compliance with this FAR looks like - every month. Why every month? – because there are 120K federal contractors who have this requirement! We will cover the FAR 52.204-21 which is in every federal contract! It’s an interactive class. We’ll have some fun and create a small business with four employees and lock it down! Small Businesses who only handle FCI will walk away from this class fully armed to implement basic cyber hygiene that day! P.S. The FAR 52.-204-21 which has been in every federal contract since 2013, is exactly the same at the proposed DoD CMMC Level 1! Register: https://lnkd.in/esV4W6Bn

📢 Broad Agency Announcement (BAA): Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Sync-Counter UUV DARPA seeks innovative proposals for the Sync program. The objective of Sync is to investigate orthogonal approaches to counter UUVs that do not rely on the complex detection and localization of the UUV to defeat the adversary. Sync will investigate several different approaches to defeat the UUV, starting with modeling and simulation eventually moving to hardware in the loop and pool testing. Breakthrough technologies demonstrated in the lab will lead to follow on expansion efforts. This opportunity closes on October 22nd. Full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/evRf6cgD

Just in! The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Program final rule was released and is expected to be published in the Federal Register on Tuesday. This final rule aligns the program with the cybersecurity requirements described in Federal Acquisition Regulation part 52.204-21 and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications (SP) 800-171 Rev 2 and -172. It also clearly identifies the 24 NIST SP 800-172 requirements mandated for CMMC Level 3 certification.
