About us
The North Carolina Council of Churches is a faith-based organization that empowers and amplifies faith communities committed to creating equitable, compassionate, and thriving communities for all. Through collaboration, education, and advocacy, the Council seeks to inspire, mobilize, and support people of faith to address the social justice issues they care about most. The Council is composed of 26 distinct judicatories from 18 denominations and eight individual congregations. Across the state, our members have over 6,200 congregations. This gives us a unique platform to advocate for change and to build a more just and equitable North Carolina. Founded in 1935, we are committed to working on issues such as racial equity, farmworker rights, environment, LGBTQ+ rights, economic justice and development, human well-being, equality, compassion, and peace. We believe that these issues are all interconnected and that we can only achieve true justice by addressing them all together.

A grain of wheat must fall into the earth and die before it can bear fruit. To have eternal life, one must die. What does it mean for us to say yes to God and place our full trust in God? Shall we "die to self" so that we may live? Read more from Sean Allen this Fifth Sunday in Lent: https://lnkd.in/gZd9d9WS #Lent #2024Lent #SeasonofLent #LentenDevotion #Faith #scripture
