Updates

  • Next on the What's SG Been Up To roundup: SG Involvement Fair & Student Involvement Fair. Our Board of Elections Chair Maria Echeverry Montano, Student Body President Timothy Reid, and Student Body Vice President Allison Markert hosted our second annual SG Involvement Fair to inform students about getting involved with Student Government. We had an amazing turnout of all years, but especially first-years and transfer students. We also had student leaders from our three branches of Executive, Treasury, and Student Senate tabling at SLE’s Student Involvement Fair to showcase Student Government as an organization on campus. Our SG Involvement Fair resulted in over 80 students joining one of our eight Executive Departments and 26 candidates filing to run for the Fall 2023 Elections. Shoutout to our passionate student leaders who are leading the departments to take action on various aspects of campus life: Director of Athletics Catherine Carter, Director of Communications Natalie Yeung, Director of Equity & Accessibility Charles Kellon, Director of Engagement and Outreach Anil Gordon, Director of Government Affairs Matthew McCauley, Director of Graduate Student Relations Davion Washington Jr., Director of Sustainability Zoë Smith, Director of University Affairs Maeve Hennessy, Director of Wellness Ria Bakshi; as well as our ASG Delegate Adam Womble.

  • It's time for a What's SG Been Up To roundup! This week, we’d like to reflect on the success of our annual Wolfpack Welcome Week event, Respect the Pack, as well as our participation in Packapalooza in August. RESPECT THE PACK Director of Equity & Accessibility Charles Kellon and Student Body President Timothy Reid focused this year's event on embracing multicultural experiences to harness the power of inclusivity. After powerful speeches from Chancellor Randy Woodson and our two hosts, Charles and Erica R. moderated our Multicultural Students in Leadership panel. Thank you to our outstanding panelists Andrea Zamudio, Brae Williams, Dre Jordan, Emery Meyer, Joseph Hairston and Lee Chavis-Tartaglia for sharing your perspectives as accomplished student leaders. Following tradition, students affirmed their commitment to respecting the pack by leaving their handprint on our Free Expression Tunnel mural. Special thanks to NC State College of Design Alumni, Alan Yeh for creating a spectacular design that symbolized the multicultural backgrounds of our students. PACKAPALOOZA We had the best time meeting new students handing out promotional items at the signature Wolfpack Welcome Week event. This year's designs included a tote bag and t-shirt designed by Director of Communications Natalie Yeung and Communications Department member Evangelina Pettaris.
