When NDHFA is handling loss claims from large-scale disasters, allow at least 48 hours for any insurance information to be processed. An appointment to discuss your claim with NDHFA staff members may be necessary. • Please contact your home insurance company immediately or contact our office if you are unsure who insures your home. Your home insurance company will send an adjuster to assess the damage and determine the amount it will reimburse you to make repairs. • The insurance claim check will usually be payable to you and NDHFA. This dual endorsement is due to the property still securing a mortgage with NDHFA.
