Before the Growth Fund existed, North Dakota was already investing Legacy Fund dollars into the private sector — it just wasn’t making a point to keep a slice of that money in-state. Some officials felt that without a dedicated program to invest in North Dakota private capital, North Dakota would miss out on the prosperity that it can generate, said State Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread, a former member of the State Investment Board who helped start the Growth Fund. You will collaborate with the Portfolio Manager of Private Markets and identify, implement, and monitor the North Dakota Retirement & Investment Office real asset, private equity, and infrastructure investments. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Portfolio Manager in evaluating private markets investment managers, conducting end-to-end manager searches, and private market portfolio management. The Senior Investment Analyst will also identify strategic and tactical opportunities to enhance the State Investment Board’s portfolios, including helping to develop investment strategies for pension funds, an endowment structure, and insurance trusts. This role will be required to be in RIO's office in Bismarck, ND, on a scheduled frequency. Upon review and approval by RIO's executive team, the role may be considered for a remote work arrangement.
