What makes 2004 special in your life? Our collection set celebrates the 2004 vintage and the limited library wines, showcasing three of our iconic vineyards. These bottles have aged in our private cellar - grab yours today! 2004 was the second bottling from our Rutherford Dust Vineyards: home of Mark's mother and his home growing up. The Neal family owns three vineyards in Rutherford and this bottling comes from two of those properties. The vineyards are all farmed organically, certified with the CCOF and produce Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with expressive characteristics of the land. 2004 Wykoff Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon - Originally planted by my father in 1968 and farmed organically, the Rutherford site of Wykoff Vineyard is surrounded by a pedigree of Napa Valley Cabernet vineyards. Planted at an elevation of 1,450 feet on volcanic and rocky soils, 2004 Second Chance Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the remarkable qualities typical of rocky, low-vigor mountain vineyards. This wine boasts an impressive power and concentration, with flavors of rich chocolate, ripe cherry, and bold coffee. Under 300 cases of each of these vintages were produced. As consumers, we often overlook the profound connection between the products lining our shelves and the origins of their ingredients. Yet, whether it's the cereal we eat for breakfast or the lotion we apply before bed, everything we consume is crafted from elements cultivated somewhere on this earth. Consumers look at the labeling of the product itself but need to look deeper at the quality and growing methods of the ingredients within that product. Amid the myriad of goods, there exists a product whose essence is deeply intertwined with the very soil from which it originates - wine. A bottle of wine is not merely a collection of ingredients; it is a liquid embodiment of the land from which its grapes are grown. In each sip, we taste the terroir, the unique combination of soil, climate, and geography that shapes the flavor profile of the wine. In essence, while the products on our shelves may come from various sources, wine emerges from the soil itself, reminding us of the intricate relationship between nature and the goods we enjoy.
